Introduction

Media wishing to cover the 2007 Geelong UCI Women's World Cup and/or the 2007 Geelong Tour must be accredited. Media are required to complete the online application form by the required deadline. Organisers of the events are solely responsible for determining which organisations and individuals will receive accreditation. Applications from freelance journalists/photographers must be accompanied by a letter of commission from a legitimate media outlet - these letters will be verified by the organisers.

We seek your cooperation in ensuring the accreditation guidelines are respected. The safety of those involved in the race is our prime concern and we are certain all media will be able to do their jobs within the guidelines. A breach of the guidelines or refusal to follow the reasonable direction of the Race Organisers will result in the forfeit of accreditation.

The deadline for media accreditation applications is February 17, 2007.

Geelong World Cup Media Information

The Media Centre will be located in the Sheraton Four Points, Eastern Beach Rd, Waterfront Geelong.

There will be limited phone and internet access available on a share basis.

The Geelong World Cup Media Centre will operate from 9.30am on the day of the race only.

Viewing the race

Media are advised that coverage of race will be shown on the big screen opposite the grandstand seating on the finishing straight.

One vehicle only will operate on the course for media. It is clearly marked MEDIA across the front windscreen. It will travel behind the last vehicle in the race convoy. This vehicle will pick up and drop off photographers to designated points of the course only. It is also possible for journalists to experience a lap in the vehicle if space permits.

The Media vehicle will leave the course as the riders cross the start finish line with three laps to go.

Grandstand Seating

An area will be reserved in the Grandstand for media use. It will afford a good view of the big screen and the finish line.

Finish Line Procedure

Lines will be marked (either in tape or through the use of witches hats) on the road 30 metres after the finish line for photographers and the host broadcaster only. Priority will be given to the host broadcaster and the official photographer in determining positions on these lines.

They will not be in place until after the last rider in the field receives the bell. All other media may, if they wish, move onto the road behind the second marked line at 50 metres past the finish line.

Media are not allowed onto the start finish area of the race course at any other time during the race and on other parts of the course should cross only when it is safe to do so.

Post Race Interviews / Presentation / Photographers

The host broadcaster will conduct the first interview with the winner of the Geelong World Cup immediately after they cross the line.

The winner and place getters will then be required immediately in the pre-presentation tent next to the main stage. After the presentation media will be able to interview the place getters in / or close to the tent.

Photographers and ENG crews are advised that a stage riser will be moved onto the roadway immediately in front of the main stage prior to the presentation.

Priority of placement on this riser will be given to the host broadcaster and the official race photographer. Other photographers / TV crews can gain access as available.

During the presentation ceremony, at appropriate points, pauses have been built in to allow photographs to be taken.

The presentation will include the awarding of floral bouquets & trophies to all three riders, the World Cup Leader's jersey to the winner and finally champagne to all three riders.

NO MEDIA WILL BE ALLOWED ON THE STAGE DURING THE PRESENTATION
